Boston Real Estate Quarterly Sales Summary 2019

The real estate market has been growing. One reason being the 11% population increase in Boston from 2010-2018 (as compared to the 5% average nationwide). Boston’s property supply has struggled to keep up with demand. Bidding wars have become common since 2014. 90+ days before buyers made an offer was standard in a traditional market. The average now is under 50 days.

With 2021 presidential elections looming around the corner, real estate values are likely to be affected in the future. Home sale prices drop by 1.5% in election versus non-election years.
