This spring is shaping up to be an exciting one for both buyers and sellers alike in the Boston real estate market according to the results of a recent Redfin survey of 435 agents. Survey results indicated that real estate agents in the Northeast foresee buyers’ demand picking up more than previous years. This increased demand for properties, coupled with Boston’s record low inventory, call for increased competition in an already very hot market.
While it is typical for real estate markets to pick up in the spring, the difference this year is that the competition has spread throughout the city and beyond. It is no longer as easy (or cheap) as it once was for buyers to expand their real estate search outside of the city in order to find a better deal. Boston’s low inventory has forced buyers to broaden their search to the surrounding Boston area, thereby increasing competition in these areas as well.
A competitive market means great things are in store for sellers. Are you thinking about selling?
