YOUR 2013 GUIDE to Boston's Residential Tax Exemption

Back Bay Sun Reports, despite an increase in property tax bills and assessed property values for fiscal year 2013 there have been fewer abatements filed so far this year when compared to 2010. The cutoff date to file abatement with the City of Boston’s Accessing Department was February 1 and to date only 2,200 abatements have been filed.

The City of Boston has all of the info on their website so you (Boston Home owner) can file for a residential tax exemption.

Fiscal Year 2013 (July 1, 2012 – June 30th, 2013): To be eligible for the residential exemption, the property owner must have owned and occupied their property on January 1, 2012.
